The MY class was built by Nydquist & Holm AB (NOHAB) in Sweden licensed by General Motors. Danish subsuppliers (Frichs and Thrige) took part in the production. A1A-A1A. Dieselelectric. MY 1101 - 1105 was supplied with a General Motor 16-cyl. diesel engine performing 1.700 hp. The diesel engine in MY 1106 - 1144 was performing 1.950 hp - MY 1145 - 1159 1700 hp. Max speed 133 km/h - 83 mph. Length 18 900 mm. Weight 101,6 metric tonnes. MY 1103 was put in service in 1954. It was withdrawn from service 1987 and scrapped in 1989.

The coaches were built by Linke-Hoffmann-Busch, Germany - the restaurant coaches by Wegmann & Co. Germany. Totally the trainsets were delivered in a number of 11 - the first ones put into service in 1963. The trainsets were based on the German type 11.5, but the Danish version had to be changed a lot to fit the size of the ferries taking the trains across Storebælt. The MA class was used for the socalled "Lyntog". Diesel 12 cyl. 1.100 hp. Max speed 160 km/h - 100 mph. Weight 51 metric tonnes. The MA class was in 1983/1984 painted in a silver grey colour. The trainsets were withdrawn from service in 1990. The MA 466 was put in service in 1966. In 1992 - among others - given to the Lubuska Kolej Regionalna (LKR) in Poland.. It was scrapped in 1995.
